Description
This Seiko Actus SilverWave 6306-8010 is a striking example of Seiko’s Japanese-market sports watches of the 1970s, dominated by its spectacular vivid blue textured dial. The intricate repeating pattern changes dramatically as it catches the light, contrasted by applied silver-tone hour markers, matching hands and the distinctive Actus SilverWave branding. A bilingual Japanese Kanji/English day-date display sits at 3 o’clock, while the angular stainless-steel case and integrated-style steel bracelet give the watch the unmistakable styling of the period.
Inside is Seiko’s 21-jewel calibre 6306 automatic movement, featuring hacking seconds and quick-set day and date functions. At approximately 38mm in diameter, the watch offers plenty of wrist presence while remaining extremely wearable by modern standards. The stainless-steel case and bracelet retain signs of use consistent with the watch’s age, giving the piece plenty of genuine vintage character. Combining an incredible textured blue dial, desirable Japanese-market specification and classic 1970s Seiko design, this is an especially eye-catching example of the Actus SilverWave.
